Scott + Nicole | Log Haven Wedding

August 3, 2017

Every wedding that I go to and photograph is such a treat. But I had no idea what I was in for when I showed up at Log Haven up Millcreek Canyon in Salt Lake City on July 7th. The instant I saw Nicole’s wedding dress, I knew that it was a dream. And then I talked with Scott for just a few minutes. His nerves and excitement were palpable. The place was completely energized as we all waited in anticipation for everything to begin.

I will never forget the moments before Nicole appeared to walk down the isle as I’m sure Scott won’t either. I watched as he took deep breaths, nervously talked and laughed with friends, and looked around. Then Nicole appeared. I have never seen a reaction as unique and special as Scott’s reaction. His breath was taken away and the tears started to pour as he watched in awe. This stunningly beautiful woman was walking towards him to promise him forever.

Their ceremony left me crying, along with everyone else who was there, and served as an incredible reminder of how two people should love one another and treat each other. They were counseled to allow each other to be unique and to be themselves and to be supportive of dreams and to also keep them in check so there would always be a balance.

The biggest surprise of the night though was when Scott, a former rapper who traveled the nation, took the mic to sing his new bride an improv rap. I had no idea that someone’s brain could work so fast to come up with rhymes and to keep their lips moving along with all of it. It was so impressive, and hilarious! And it just got better! Near the end of the reception, he had all his guy friends come up so he could sing a rap about each one of them and their friendship. We laughed so hard our stomachs hurt!

From the dress to the details and everything in between, Scott and Nicole’s wedding day was definitely one I’ll always remember and cherish. I’m a better person, photographer, and wife because I met these two and got to spend a day documenting their love.

Congratulations!!!
