I know that love can withstand the test of time, incredible heart break, hardships, any distance, and LIFE because of these two. Sitting down with Grandma and Grandpa Whicker and talking about about their life’s journey are treasured moments for me. They’ve been married for 65 years now and have been sweethearts since before then. They met each other in their younger years and have been in love ever since. I’ve only known them for a brief time as I married into the family, but they have completely captured my heart.

And Grandpa… he is the cutest old man hands down. He’s always in his button ups with cool cowboy ties and cowboy boots. And from time to time, he wears his cowboy hat.

When I think of what I want out of my life, these two come to mind. I have never seen a couple so in love, sweet, and affectionate. They had 9 children and now have over 50 grandchildren, and even more great grandchildren. They are surrounded by family and love at all times. When I grow old, I want to have the same happiness and joy that they have together. With a life full of memories and opportunities to grow deeper in love every day. That is my life’s dream.
