A couple weeks ago I hopped in a car with my kids and parents and drove all the way to Daytona Beach, Florida. Before your jaw falls on the floor and your eyes glaze over in horror, let me assure you that it wasn’t that bad!!! Sure, my adult body doesn’t travel like my kid body but I was comfortable enough! And my two little boys just sat and looked out the windows and ate food. It was an adventure!!

In Daytona there was a national cheer competition that Chelsi, my brother, and husband were competing in with the Weber State cheer team. They had an incredible year. So incredible that they actually took first place!! It’s been 8 years since they’ve had the national title.

Chelsi has been on the cheer team for 4 years with this being her last year and every year they go to Daytona to win 1st place and for the last several years, they’ve barely missed. So they work even harder and this year it paid off. I can’t think of a better way to end! Watch Chelsie’s face as they stand there waiting to hear who took 2nd place. I love how her face changes as she realizes that it was not them. Which meant they were the national champions.

So after an incredible competition and celebration, we woke up and went out onto the quiet beach to celebrate just one more thing. Later this year Chelsie and Cameron are getting married!! Cameron came into Daytona to support his fiance in her last competition as a Weber State cheer leader and to love and kiss her on the beach while I took pictures.

After dating for 3 years and doing a long distance relationship because of deployment, Cameron made a surprise visit home to Utah where he got down on one knee and asked Chelsi to be his forever.
