This joyful spring extended family session in Salt Lake City Utah was one of my all-time favorites!! I know most people feel really hung up on outfits when it comes to coordinating a larger group and I think they did so well with their outfit choice! I absolutely love the soft yet vibrant color palette of soft blues, pinks, and coral that was chosen against the glowing leaves on the trees.

But, of course, outfits aren’t the only thing that make for amazing family photos.

I wholeheartedly believe there needs to be an element of FUN!! And we really did have so much fun. Between the jokes thrown out here and there and the games we played to create magical moments, there was so much laughter and smiles!

Little kids can be tricky for some, but they make me feel right at home with my own kids ranging from two to ten! Because most kids have short attention spans and are disinterested in smiling for a camera, it’s always a fun challenge for me to figure out how to let them play but then also engage them in portrait taking as well. The game that was most definitely the winner for this session was “1, 2, 3… CHARGE!!!” With all the kids running to the arms of someone they loved, it made for some of the best candid photos, which can actually be really tricky with large groups!

And because kids are just kids, you’ll find a few real life moments sprinkled through the session that highlight the painful yet hilarious moments of being a parent of small children! It was such a joyful extended family session in Salt Lake City Utah!
