I remember when I had my baby girl just a little over a year ago, I had the hardest time deciding between doing birth photography or a fresh 48 session. A session where the photographer comes in to photograph a piece of those first two days as a family. But after lots of thinking and praying, I decided on a fresh 48 session. And ever since then, they have been one of the most treasured experiences I get to have as a photographer.

The hard work is finally over, mom has gotten some rest, and all that’s left to do is snuggle and smother with love and kisses! And then those first moments when older siblings get to come and meet baby is priceless. Their smiles are huge, they don’t know just exactly what to do while baby is snuggled up and sleeping but they’ve come with all the love and excitement in the world! Sometimes that means they have a hard time being quiet and still so the gentle hushes from parents can often be heard.

After a long day of waiting and waiting, little Genevieve was finally born and the moments that Maylee met her sister were the sweetest. She had lots of practice on all her dolls and loved the opportunity to put blankets on her baby sister and give her all the kisses.
