They danced along parallel paths for what may have felt far too long, but as with any love story, it was exactly as long as it needed to be. Two hearts carefully being prepared for the day that they could and would be willing to become one.

Libby studied ballroom dance with Collin’s father as an instructor for the last several years on the UVU ballroom tour team while Collin studied ballroom over at BYU. It was just about a year ago that Collin made a transfer that would forever change his life. He left BYU and joined the UVU ballroom dance team.

Earlier this year, he met Libby.

And it didn’t take long before these two knew. They knew that they didn’t want to spend their lives with anyone else. They finally found someone that felt like home, that filled all the gaps and cracks, and someone that would make them smile and laugh every day. And as an added bonus, someone who could dance just as good as the other.

I should probably say, Libby is actually my little sister! It’s been hard to imagine someone that can take care of my sister the way she deserves. But as I’ve gotten to know Collin and have watched the way he loves and calms her, I believe he is that kind of someone. He is gentle and sweet, even when she’s feisty and hot. I can see how much he loves her.

It was especially sweet to be able to document their love during their engagement session. However, all the way to the Utah State Capitol, all three of us were singing “Rain, rain, go away…” Libby was probably adding wind into her song too because the weather out there was crazy! I wasn’t too worried though because I have the cutest umbrellas for my brides and bridesmaids for this very occurrence and a little wind blown hair just adds a touch of romance! So the wind and the rain didn’t stop us from having an amazing engagement session full of all the romance, giggles, and all those crinkled nose smiles!
