Nestled up in the Salt Lake mountains with the cutest little tiny people, we had a magical evening full of big huge smiles, wild flowers, Eskimo kisses, snuggles, and dancing. It was so natural for these two parents to get down on their kid’s level and play with them. I couldn’t help but feel like these are some of the luckiest little people! They live in a good home, with good parents, who love them so dang much!!
As I left the session, I couldn’t help but reflect on the process of becoming parents and the ongoing sacrifices it requires, especially for moms. It’s miraculous that a woman’s body can carry and bring a baby into the world! And it’s amazing to me that we choose to do it, knowing the forever effects it will have on our lives and our bodies! But when I look at mothers with their children, I know exactly why we do it. Joy.
There is nothing that fills me with more love and joy than those priceless little smiles of my little mini-me’s. So I, along with many other mothers, continue to sacrifice and give as we help sculpt these beautiful little people. That being said, there is also nothing that I find quite as exhausting!!
As we left the session, Carlee and I talked about the need we have as mother’s to take care of ourselves so that we can keep giving and how different that can look from mom to mom! I’m so grateful for Carlee, who helped me recognize some helpful changes I could make so that I could continue to show up for my kids and be my best self. I just feel so blessed that my “job” brings so many amazing people into my life that I love and learn from!
