Sarah + Josh | McMenamins Edgefield Portland, OR

July 14, 2017

When I arrived at their wedding, I instantly knew it was going to be a dream. But I had no idea how dreamy it would actually get! I only knew Josh and Sarah a little bit before their wedding but had never really had the opportunity to witness them as a couple. From the moment of their first look on through the evening, I felt overwhelmed by the sweetness and depth of their relationship. And I’m so excited to tell you all about it!

The night before their wedding I flew into Portland, OR just absolutely excited to be back in the Pacific North West with my camera. Sarah’s wedding vision was breath taking. The wedding took place at McMenamins Edgefield and provided the most beautiful garden areas. With a stunning dress from The White Dress and a bouquet filled with elegant pastels, she absolutely took Josh’s breath away when he first saw her.

While there are many things that make these two unique and special, I want to share just a few. They met working at the airlines flying together. Once they started dating, Josh kept a photo of Sarah in his pilot’s hat and the whole time they’ve been together, they’ve hid dryer sheets in random places in each other’s stuff or in the kitchen as an ongoing annoying joke. But all of those things made Sarah fall even deeper in love with him. In the wedding ceremony, Sarah shared all of these touching stories through her vows. There was not a dry eye by the time she was finished.

On the day before Sarah’s 30th birthday, Josh knew he needed to propose because he said he would only date girls in their 20’s. They were spending the day at Harry Potter land and through all the fun rides that they went on, much to everyone’s amazement and shock, he kept a special ring tucked away in his pocket. While they were riding on the Hogwarts’s Express, he asked Sarah to marry him.

Because of their special and unique proposal, traces of Harry Potter were seen throughout their wedding details. From a doe patronus on Sarah’s bouquet to Harry Potter books on the tables. Sarah managed to weave these sentiments seamlessly into the details along with her sophisticated elegant theme.

Congratulations Sarah + Josh!
