For how relaxed and fun Patrice and Bobby are, a Great Saltair engagement session was perfect for them. Though we’re hundreds of miles from the ocean, the warm breeze over the Great Salt Lake made us feel like we were walking and playing right on the beach. And while they had envisioned pictures by the lake, they were so surprised at how photogenic the parking area was! They absolutely loved having a bit more diversity in the photographs!

When Patrice met Bobby on a group backpacking trip, she didn’t think much of it. He had a tight knot of friends, and she didn’t see much point in flirting when one of those friends clearly had her eye on him.

Fast forward one year to when Patrice moved next door to Bobby. He and the backpacking friend had dated but, as serendipity would have it, they broke up two weeks before Patrice moved in. That Sunday, Patrice and Bobby sat next to each other at a church function. They decided it would be fun to plan a hike, started texting daily to plan said hike, and just never stopped texting. When they went on their first date a few weeks later, they already knew they had something special.

That was three years ago—time really does fly! Now, after three job changes, two moves, one doctorate dissertation, and innumerable nicknames, adventures, and late-night trips to Kohl’s, Patrice and Bobby decided they were in it for the long haul. They can’t wait to get married on October 7 th , 2021!
